Sand sculptures invade the Belgian beach

Sergei Zaplatin from Russia is working on sculpture during the sand sculpture festival in Ostend, Belgium


Giant sculptures are based on Marvel, Star Wars, Disney and Pixar movies. The photo shows the character Kristoff and his reindeer Sven from the "Frozen" cartoon


It took about 7,000 tons of sand to make 150 sculptures for this festival


The sand was delivered to the beach with 240 trucks
